September 5, 2024

David Banerjee, Financial Professionals Coalition, Ltd. Featured Member, Announces Run for FINRA National Adjudicatory Council Small Firm Seat.

banerjee September 3, 2024 – David Banerjee, a Featured Member of the Financial Professionals Coalition, with over 35 years of hands-on compliance and operations experience in broker dealers and dually licensed registered investment advisors covering the gamut of fully-disclosed to self-clearing firms in the financial industry, says he’s “…not qualified to do anything else.”

 In his three and a half decades in the industry, he has qualified for a multitude of licenses, Series 4, 7, 14, 24 and 27, 52, 53, 55, 57, 63, 65, 79, 99, SIE, including 52TO,57TO, 79TO and 99TO.

Under FINRA's disciplinary procedures, a firm or individual has the right to appeal a hearing panel decision to the NAC, or the NAC may on its own initiate a review of a decision.  If a hearing panel’s decision is appealed, it is brought before the NAC for review.  If there is a change in the decision, or penalty, the NAC may send it to the SEC for review.  The SEC has the power to accept the NAC’s decision or, if not, may send it back to the NAC for further review.

Of the 15 members of the NAC, there are two small firm, elected members.  David Banerjee is eminently qualified by virtue of his many years in the industry but, more importantly, his vast experience in almost every nook-and-cranny of his tenure and his dedication to fair adjudication of the rules.

David is currently serving his second term on FINRA’s West Regional Committee, twice elected by the region’s small firms.

“I have voiced my concerns at FINRA district committee meetings, in Congress (to limit audit fees for small BDs) and co-founded Investor Choice Advocates Network (ICANLAW.org) to combat SEC abuse, worked with the Cato Institute, the New Civil Liberties Alliance and support, as a Featured Member, the Financial Professionals Coalition.

“I am asking for your petition to get me on the ballot.  All it takes is an email to davebanerji@gmail.com, from your firm’s executive representative, to get the job done.

My educational background as Bachelor of Science - Engineering, 2 MBS's, Graduate in Operations Research, CPA (PCAOB audits).
